Queries regarding Admission process

Applications to be submitted online

All applications must be submitted online via the Admissions portal. Please keep checking the website for the Admissions portal link. This link will only go active on 7th September 2017 which is when applicants can start applying.

Processing Fee

Once you submit your application, you will be directed to deposit a processing fee (worth Pak Rs.5000 or an equivalent of US$ 65, if international student) to specified branches of Bank of Punjab. All information will be provided step by step once the applicant starts his application Online. After you submit the processing fee, you will be given a receipt by the Bank along with a copy of the Prospectus, which is for your information regarding the College. Please retain the Bank receipt as proof of payment and bring it along at the time of the interview.


Your interview will be scheduled after all applications have been processed by the College. The College Admissions team will contact the applicant itself and notify about the interview. The interview is a general interview to assess the personality of the applicant. The applicant MUST be accompanied by both parents or at least ONE parent at the time of the interview.


Queries related to admission

If I don’t fall on the merit i.e. if my aggregate is low, can I still have a chance?

In case a student does not fall on the merit, he / she may still apply via the online link. In case your name does not appear on the merit list, you may contact the college administration and check if there are any chances for you to get admission. However, this is only possible once the application deadline has passed i.e. 1st October 2017 and the merit list has been displayed i.e. 5th October.

If I don’t have one or more of the documents listed in the application process, will my application still be considered?

You are advised to apply with full documents. However, if any one or more of your documents (degree certificates or Test scores) are awaited, you can bring these at the time of your interview.

If I want to apply for both MBBS and BDS Programs, do I have to submit two applications or only one application is enough?

For students applying to both programs (MBBS & BDS), two separate applications must be submitted online. There will be a separate processing fees for each program.

What was last year’s closing merit?

The closing merit for 2016-2017 batch was 85.4% and this year it is expected to be approximately the same.

Does the College have its own entry test or is UHS entry test considered?

The College accepts UHS entry test scores and does not have any test of its own. All applicants are required to provide either MCAT scores or SAT II scores.

If I have given my MCAT last year, will it be valid for my admission application this year?

Only fresh MCAT scores are considered i.e. given in the year the student is applying for admission. Applicants who have appeared for MCAT the previous year must appear for a retest and submit fresh MCAT scores.

If I have given SAT II, for how long are my scores valid?

The validity of scores for applicants who have given SAT II is 2 years. Applicants need to have a minimum score of 550 in each subject to be eligible for apply.

I repeated my FSc and my marks improved. Will the improved marks be considered for admission?

Improvement in FSc marks will be considered for admission.

I have earned a degree from another Provincial Board. Am I still eligible to apply?

You can apply for admission irrespective of your Provincial Board. In this case, your ETA from that Province / / Federal Capital will be accepted.


FEES related Queries

How much is the fee for MBBS Program per year?

The tuition fee is Pak Rs. 800,000 and admission fee is Pak Rs. 50,000 per annum. This is subject to an increase by 7% per year.

Can I pay my fees in installments?

There are no installments for fees. All fees must be paid by the annual deadline communicated well in advance to the student.

Are there any concessions or discounts in Fees?
Fees for each year is fixed. No concessions or reductions are offered. There is no concession for kinship either.

Is your College recognized by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC)?

Avicenna Medical College is recognized by the PM&DC, UHS and CPSP. We seek to achieve excellence in providing Medical Education in accordance with the Rules and Regulations governed by the authorized bodies. Our College has been the only Medical College in Pakistan to have achieved 100% result in Annual Professional Examinations and we aim to maintain consistent academic standards in future.

Is my seat confirmed if I clear the interview and am offered an admission?

Your admission is only confirmed once you deposit the fee. Many Candidates may be offered an admission but we are NOT ABLE to reserve or hold a seat for anyone. Seats are allocated on a first cum first serve basis and therefore you are encouraged to deposit your fee within a few days of being notified of your admission.

If I fail to meet the application deadline, can I still apply?

Admissions cycle commences on 7th September 2017. This is when the link for Online admissions goes active and applicant can start to submit their applications online. The College will only accept applications made Online via the Admissions portal. No paper applications will be accepted. The deadline to submit your application is 1st October 2017 (subject to change). In case you fail to submit your application by this date, you can visit the College and check if you can still apply.
