Admission Details
General
  1. Admissions in MBBS and BDS at Avicenna Medical & Dental College are governed by PMC Medical and Dental Undergraduate Education (Admission, Curriculum and Conduct) Regulations 2021 notified 04th June, 2021 amended 14th May, 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
  1. Applicants should have at least 65% marks in FSc / A-Levels or equivalent qualification and at least 65% marks in MDCAT 2022 or 65% equivalence in MDCAT2021 (55% for BDS as per policy decision on 27th June 2022).
Merit Criteria
  1. The calculation of merit for MBBS and BDS candidates shall be formulated with following components each carrying separate weightages as follows:
  1. Matric / O-Levels 10%
  2. FSc / A-Levels (Electives) 20%
  3. MDCAT 20%
  4. Multiple Mini Interviews 25%
  5. Aptitude Test 25%
When to Apply
  1. Admissions are open from 01 July, 2022 for MBBS and BDS. The candidates can apply online on our website avicennamch.com. The application portal for admissions shall be closed on 10th December, 2022. There shall be no interviews / tests after 10th December.
  1. The candidates are able to apply before their results of FSc / A-Levels and MDCAT. Those who apply before their results on the admissions portal of Avicenna Medical & Dental College are eligible to appear in the Multiple Mini Interview and Aptitude Test but their final merit and eligibility to be included in the merit list depends shall be finalized after the results of FSc and MDCAT are declared and the application is complete in all aspects for the calculation of merit.
Interview / Test Schedule
  1. After submission of application the applicant may appear as walk-in or as scheduled candidate for test and interview between 01st October, 2022 till 10th December, 2022. The criteria of interviews and tests shall be available on the college website. Candidates shall have the option to reschedule within the above dates in case the date clashes with their interviews at other colleges. No calls shall be made.
Display of Merit Lists
  1. The merit list for MBBS shall be displayed on 15th December, 2022 and for BDS the merit list shall be displayed on 25th December, 2022.
Offer and Submission of Fees
  1. The candidates in the merit lists shall be offered admissions in the order of merit. The candidates shall be informed for offer of admissions through SMS and Emails. The candidates shall have 03 days for deposit of fees. If the candidate has not deposited fees within the due date, the offer shall not stand valid and next candidate shall be offered admission in the order of merit.
  1. Only those students will get the admission who have not taken admission in any other college or who have withdrawn their admission from the previous college. The onus to prove that the student has not taken admission elsewhere lies on the student as “Failure by a student to cancel the prior acceptance of admission shall render all admission offers of the student as void and the student shall be ineligible for admission”. (Authority: PMC Notification No. F4.Sec.PMC-2021/Multiple Admissions/317 dated 16 May, 2022)
  1. A student when accepting admission is required to mandatorily disclose to the college (if a prior admission has been accepted by them to any other college, and such student shall prior to accepting latter admission must in writing inform the prior college of cancellation of their acceptance with a copy to the designated email to the Authority.
Submission of Documents
  1. At the time of admission. The candidate shall be asked to submit the original results / certificates of Matric/O-Levels, FSc/A-Levels and Domicile. 03 sets of copies of following documents shall be required:
  1. 08 Photographs
  2. CNIC (student and parent/guardian)
  3. Passport / Visa (Foreign Students Only)
  4. Domicile
  5. MDCAT Result
  6. Matric / O-Level Result / Certificate
  7. FSc / A-Levels Result / Certificate
  1. The original documents shall be returned after the registration by PMC / UHS after admission or on refund / cancellation of admission. Candidates with FSc from outside Punjab shall provide their original migration certificate from their Intermediate Board for onward submission to the University of Health Sciences.
Fee Structure
  1. The fee structure shall be fixed for the whole 4 year BDS and 5 year MBBS program. Following are the fee structures:

* Paid to relevant Insurance Company Mode of Fee Payment
  1. Fees can be paid at any branch of the Bank of Punjab via fee challan issued from the College. The college also accepts fees paid via banking instruments to include Call Deposit Receipt, Demand Draft, Pay Order or cash. Cheques are not accepted as mode of payment for fees. The bank requires following details for issuance of instruments:

  1. In case any candidate fails to deposit the fees within one week of the due date, a penalty of Rs 2000 per day shall apply.
Default in Payment of Fees
  1. PMC Admission Regulations 2021 Section 9(8) reads: “A student who defaults in payment of tuition fee shall be liable to be expelled by the college subject to a reasonable period* being granted to the student to remedy the defaulted fee. A college who expels a student on account of default in payment of tuition fee shall notify the Authority within one week and the student’s registration with the Authority shall be cancelled permanently. A student expelled shall not be eligible to seek admission to any other medical or dental college for a period of one year.”
*Note: 7 days maximum Cancellation of Admission / Refund of Fees
  1. A candidate after securing the admission may seek refund of fees any time of the year as per PMC Admission Regulations 2021 Section 9(9). A candidate seeking refund shall submit a written application at the college admissions office. The application shall be processed in 10 days after the submission. Following is the criteria and schedule of refund of fees:

 Closure of Admissions
  1. The admissions for MBBS shall close on 25th January 2023 and BDS on 31st January, 2023.
  Student Registration
  1. The students shall be entered on PMC College portal at the time of their admission. The name of the student will not be removed from the portal after the last date of admission despite the application for refund.
 
  1. Once the admissions are closed the list of students is submitted by the college to PMC via University on the registration portal, a student shall be able to apply for refund but shall not be able to seek admission elsewhere as no changes can be made after the submission of the lists.
e.g., An MBBS student applying for refund on 26th January, 2023 and a BDS student applying for refund on 01st February, 2023 shall not be able to get admission in session 2022-23 in any other public or private medical or dental college as his name cannot be removed from the Admissions Portal after submission. Transfer / Migration
  1. An admitted student may apply for transfer / migration after registration by the Pakistan Medical Commission i.e., 31st March 2023. The transfer shall be subject to the policy of relieving and accepting University and availability of seat at the destination college.

Avicenna Medical & Dental College secured A Category as inspected in 2019 as per PMC Inspection Criteria based on WFME Standards in terms of requirements and quality Medical & Dental Education.
